Second-home care
Ready before you arrive.
Many of our clients are in the valley a few weeks a year. Care visits mean the house is warm, the pipes are safe and the snowmelt is idling when you land.
A good fit when
A house empty for long stretches
Hydronic loops that must not freeze
Guests or caretakers who don't know the controls
Snowmelt that should be ready for the first storm

What a visit covers
What we do, and when.
The visits and what each one covers are written down and agreed with you before the first one.
Start-up before you arrive
Set the temperatures, check the pressures, run the pumps and warm the house.
Shut-down when you leave
Set the house back, check for leaks and leave the snowmelt in the state you chose.
Mid-season checks
Fluid concentration in the snowmelt loop, boiler combustion and the controls.
Temperature alerts
Where the house has a connected thermostat, alerts go to you and the house manager.
Annual service
Boiler cleaning, safety valves and pressure tests, written up in one report.
Questions about this work
Can you look after the house while we're away?
Yes. A care visit covers start-up before you arrive, shut-down when you leave, and checks in between. The visits and what each one covers are written down and agreed with you first.
What if the heat fails in January?
Call the office number. In office hours a person answers. Outside them the line goes to the technician on call for homes we installed or service. Say if pipes are at risk, so we know how fast to move.
Can you work with our house manager?
Yes. We give the manager a one-page guide to the controls and a number to call, and we copy them on visit notes if you want.
Tell us about the house.
A few lines about the site and the schedule are enough to start.
